The Lokniti, a programme for comparative democracy of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) had organized a day long dialogue on state of school education in Bihar. The title of the dialogue was ‘What ails school education in Bihar?’ The dialogue was held on 18th September 2017 at A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies in Patna. There were around 35 participants including 16 panelists. The speakers in panels were closely associated with the field of education especially with the Bihar education system. The main objective of the dialogue was to discuss the problems and challenges faced by the education system in Bihar, so as to come up possible ways to deal with the persisting issues. The programme was divided into four broader sessions - curriculum, teaching, examination and evaluation.
