After emerging victorious in the intra-party feud, Akhilesh signed off an alliance with Congress after protracted negotiations over seats. This was finally seen to be an end to the storm that was brewing in Uttar Pradesh. However, things aren’t that peaceful as the patriarch who was ousted by his father is not very convinced of the alliance and expressed his disapproval by refusing to campaign for the SP-Congress alliance. Though a day later, he said Akhilesh is after all my son !
The snapping of ties between the Shiv Sena and the Mahrashtra for the upcoming BMC elections is breakup of the two of the oldest allies in the country, which came together on the common platform of Hindutva. It is the old formula of seat sharing designed by the late Balasaheb Thackeray and Pramod Mahajan which is the cause of discontent between two allies. The formula is completely unacceptable to the BJP, realizing its new found might in the electoral arena of Maharashtra.
The budget given its date on 1st February,2017 was expected to be a poll bonanza for the poll-bound states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa & Manipur.
