The Lokniti Programme at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) along with Konrad Adeneur Stiftung (KAS) launched the Youth Report ‘Attitudes, Anxieties and Aspirations of India’s Youth: Changing Patterns' on 3rd April, 2017. The findings of the study were discussed by Prof. Surinder Jodhka ( Jawaharlal Nehru University), Neha Buch ( CEO, Pravah) and Neha Dixit ( Independent Journalist).
In light of the new developments that have taken place in the Indian society and polity, this study aimed to track the changes in the very thought process of the Youth in the past few years. The study has not just captured the changes in trend but to understand the reasons that may have brought about this change. This survey based study, was conducted in April- March 2017 in 19 states of India among over 6000 respondents aged 15-34 years. The study has been coordinated by Prof. Sanjay Kumar (Director, CSDS) and an Advisory Committee comprising of Prof. Sandeep Shastri( Coordinator, Lokniti Network) and Prof. Suhas Palshikar ( Co-Director, Lokniti).
