In the absence of any systematic study undertaken to study politics between elections, Lokniti-CSDS and Azim premji University have entered into a collaboration to conduct a study that captures public opinion between elections. While Indian democracy gains vibrancy and momentum during elections which fulfill the procedural aspects of democracy, there is little knowledge of the problems of everyday governance and development which form the substantive aspects of democracy.

Lokniti has rolled out the study in four states of India- Gujarat, Haryana, Odisha & Karnataka. Training workshops on survey research were conducted for the field investigators in all the four states and the fieldwork is underway.
