National Seminar: Understanding the General Election Mandate and its Impact on National Politics – Organized by Lokniti CSDS and Department of Political Science, MLS University, Udaipur

The seminar was held at Udiapur, Rajasthan from 5th to 7th February 2015. The objective of the seminar was to understand the outcome of the 2014 general elections through a set of themes relevant to electoral process in India. State wise analysis was also presented through a series of papers in the Seminar. Various papers were presented by members of the Lokniti National Network from different parts of the country. The seminar covered the following themes:

  • Theme I – BJP Strongholds ( Papers on Rajasthan, HP and MP )
  • Theme II – New BJP Bastion I ( Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi )
  • Theme III: New BJP Bastion II ( Bihar, Haryana and Gujarat)
  • Theme IV: New BJP Bastion and BJP as an Emerging Force ( Odisha, Assam, West Bengal)
  • Theme V – Trends in 2014: Old and New ( Punjab and other issues)
  • Theme VI – BJP as an Emerging Force ( Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh)
