Lokniti network members met at the Department of Political Science, Hyderabad Central University, Hyderabad on 6 – 7th January 2014. Prof. G. Sudarshanam, Head, Dept of Political Science and Sanjay Kumar, Co-Director, Lokniti programme, Centre for Study of Developing Societies welcomed the participants. The network members discussed multiple issues. The most prominent among them was the planning for the National Election Study (NES) 2014. The planning included themes of the questionnaire, sampling and sample size, training and workshop of the field investigators, data entry and data cleaning, marginals and importance of methods training. Some other matters were also brought to the table like few ongoing projects that included Comparative State Politics and Public Policy, State of Democracy in South Asia, State of Indian Farmers, Tracker Poll Round II etc.

Ramajeyam), Uttar Pradesh (Anil Kumar Verma and Sudhir Khare), West Bengal (Suprio Basu), Delhi (Biswajit Mohanty) Jharkhand (Harishwar Dayal) Chhattisgarh (Anupama Saxena) Uttaranchal (Annpurna Nautiyal). Lokniti Network coordinator Sandeep Shastri, co director of Lokniti programme Suhas Palshikar and Sanjay Kumar were also present. K. C. Suri and K. K. Kailash from the Hyderabad University were also present.
