Dr.K.M.Sajad Ibrahim is Assistant Professor in Political Science. He is also the Director of UGC-Nehru Study Centre of University of Kerala. He joined as the faculty member in the University of Kerala in 2005. He also served as a Lecturer in the Sree Sanakarachariya University of Sanaskrit, Kalady, Kerala, Research Associate in the Department of Politics and Public Administration in the University of Madras, Chennai and Higher Secondary Teacher under the Government Aided Service.

He received PhD from the University of Kerala in 1995. His important areas of research include: West Asian Politics, Issues of Muslims and Minorities in India, Terrorism in India and the World, Environment issues, Indian democracy and elections. He has more than twelve years of teaching/research experience. Some of his academic achievements are:

 Participated in the International Visitor ship program on U.S Federalism organized by USIA, Washington DC, and Lafayette College, Easton at Colorado, USA during June-August 1996.
Received UGC Major Research Project in April 2009 on : Impact of Fundamentalism on Muslim Youth in Kerala: Role of Islamic Organisations.
Honorary Citizenship by the Mayor of City of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA in recognition of the friendship, cooperation and dedication to exemplary civic service in July 2008.
Dr.Ramaswamy Mudaliar Gold Medal of University of Kerala in 1990.
Prof. K.V. Nandan Menon Prize from University of Kerala 1990.

In survey research he has participated as the Kerala state coordinator for Lokniti, for the Kerala State Assembly Election Study 2011 and National Election Study 2009. Beside these, he has coordinated a number of other surveys for Lokniti, which include State of the Nation Surveys of August 2011, January 2009, January 2008, January 2007 and August 2006, Survey on Good Governance November 2008, National Opinion Poll August 2007, Youth Survey April-May 2007 etc. conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), in December-January 2005-06 and Pre-poll and Post-poll election surveys conducted by CSDS, during April-May 2006.

 West Asian politics – Palestine Question, Terrorism, Refugees and Rehabilitation & Middle East Peace Process.
Tension Areas of Indian Politics: Islamic Fundamentalism, Status of Muslims, Terrorism and Communal Riots Etc.
Election Study: Issues in Indian Democracy, Electoral Democracy.
International Politics: International Security, Foreign Policy etc.

Achievements
