Dr. K.M.Sajad Ibrahim is a lecturer of political science at the University of Kerala since September 2005. He teaches Political Theory and Contemporary Issues in West Asian Politics at the post-graduate level and Political Theory at the M. Phil level. He is a recognised Research Guide and Member of Doctoral Committee in Political Science, University of Kerala. Prior to this he has been a guest lecturer in Political Science at Sree Kerala Verma College, Trissur from August 1998 to November 1998, a Higher Secondary School Lecturer in Political Science, Calicut Girls HSS, Kozhikode from September 2000 to September 2005, as Research Associate, Department of Politics and Public Administration, University of Madras from January 2000 to September 2000 and as a Lecturer in Political Science, Sree Sankarachariya University of Sanskrity, Kalady from August 1995 to May 1997.

In survey research he has participated as the Kerala state supervisor for Lokniti, for the State of the Nation Survey conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), in December-January 2005-06 and Pre-poll and Post-poll election surveys conducted by CSDS, during April-May 2006. As the Kerala state coordinator he has directed the Manmohan Mandate conducted by CSDS in July 2006, the State of the Nation Survey in July-August 2006 as well as January 2007. Dr. Ibrahim has been the recipient of Dr.Ramaswamy Mudaliar Gold Medal of University of Kerala in 1990 and Prof. K.V. Nandan Menon Prize from University of Kerala 1990.

Research Interests:

Other than his specialised area of West Asian issues, Dr. Ibrahim is also doing work in the area of Communalism and Fundamentalism in India especially related to the status of Muslims. He has already published one work in the India Quarterly.
