Dr Sandeep Shastri is the Pro Vice Chancellor, Jain University and Director, International Academy for Creative Teaching at Bangalore. Dr. Shastri is the National Convenor of the Lokniti Network. He was earlier on the Faculty of the Department of Post Graduate and Research Studies in Political Science, Bangalore University where he taught from 1984 to 2002 and Dean – Research and Social Science at the International Academy for Creative Teaching from 2002 to 2004. His has been a visiting Adjunct Professor at the University of California at Berkeley and at the University of Central Oklahoma. He has to his credit 4 Books, over 30 articles in Edited Books and 60 articles in refereed Research Journals, besides popular writings in newspapers and magazines . He coordinates the iACT involvement with the Mission10x program of WIPRO Technologies which aims at ushering in Innovation in Engineering College Education. In the last five years (since 2004) he has presented papers at more than 25 conferences outside India and fifty papers in conferences within the country and more than 100 special lectures both in India and abroad.

Invited to visit the United States by the American Government under the International Visitor Program on the theme State and Local Government in the United States in June- July 1995.

Dr. Shastri has participated in several international and national conferences and seminars in several countries. Dr. Shastri has been one of the founder members of the Lokniti Network and is presently the Network Convenor. He has served as Lokniti Karnataka State Coordinator for NES 96, NES 98, NEA 98, NES 99 and NES 2004. He was CSDS South-South Visiting Fellow to Nigeria from August to November 2001, attached to the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Lagos and worked on a theme of Comparative Federalism
