Prof. Beg is a professor in the Department of Political Science, AMU. He is a member of various committees like the editorial committee of Indian Journal of Politics, the Academic Committee on South Asia, Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi, the UP Political Science Association and the All India Political Science Association. He is also the Editorial Associate of the Indian Book Chronicle, Jaipur, and the Managing editor of www.futureislam.com (an international journal on Islam). He was awarded the American Studies Prize for the Best Doctoral Dissertation by the American Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad. Dr. Beg has traveled widely and presented papers in India and abroad.
