Lallianchhunga is Assistant Professor presently working in Mizoram University in the Department of Political Science. He completed Master of Arts in Political Science under the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong in 2002. Before he joined as regular lecturer in Mizoram University he had worked both in Pachhunga University College, Aizawl and Mizoram University as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Political Science in 2003.

He began to involve in Lokniti Surveys from 2003 when he worked as Co-coordinator under Dr. R.K.Satapathy. When Dr. R.K.Satapathy left Mizoram University, he become the State Coordinator of LOKNITI, CSDS.

Role in Civil society:

He had also played a vital role in the various activities of Civil Society and awareness Campaign through media (Doordarshan, Local channels etc.) and Seminars, symposia, discussions like ‘Right to Information in Mizoram’ , ‘Consumer Rights in Mizoram’ , ‘Value Added Tax’(VAT), ‘Legal Metrology and Consumer Rights’, ‘Postal Service in Mizoram’, ‘SSA Mission in Mizoram’, ‘ Linking Anti-Corruption Movement with section 4 of Rights to Information Act,2005’ and many more.

Role in Gov’t:

Lallianchhunga is currently Resource Person in Administrative Training Institute, Gov’t of Mizoram for topics such as Indian Constitution, Human Rights etc. He is a member of Implementing Board of New Land Use Policy (NLUP), which is a flagship programme of the ruling ministry in the state, exclusively meant for reducing poverty both in urban and rural Mizoram as well as an instrument for substituting Shifting cultivation in the state. He is also a lone non-official member of Review Committee on the Mizoram Municipalities Act, 2007 with state officials, Speaker, Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretary and opposition and ruling MLAs.

His area of research interests includes Coalition politics in India, Local self Government in Mizoram, media and politics in Mizoram. He has a number of research articles presented in the national and State-level seminars.
