Kinjal has her academic background in media and sociology. Before re joining Lokniti in 2011 her work was on Private residential housing supply in Bangalore and the land and realty market in Bangalore with Centre for Science Technology and Planning (CSTEP), Bangalore. Her research interests lie at the intersections of cities, law and media. At Lokniti she is presently working on the upcoming State of Democracy in South Asia Study.
