B.K.Sinha is a Sr.Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, St.Xavier’s College,Ranchi, an autonomous College affiliated to Ranchi University, Ranchi. He has been teaching at this College since 1988. While his academic specialization is Political Sociology and Research Methodology, International Relations and Research Methodology has been his teaching specialization. He has been associated with the CSDS since 1996. He has served as the State Supervisor for Bihar/Jharkhand in the National Election Studies in 1996, 1998 ,1999 , 2004 and 2009 organised by Lokniti. He has also supervised the State Assembly Election Study”05 , State of the Nation Survey since January 2006, CSDS-KAF Youth Survey ,2007 all conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi.
He was Asst. Editor, “Politics Today”, a journal of the Deptt. Of Political Science, St.Xavier’s College, Ranchi from 2000 to 2002 and then took over as the Chief Editor, “ Campus”, a News Letter of St.Xavier’s College, Ranchi from 2003 to 2005.
Research interests:
B.K.Sinha works mainly on Democracy and Electoral politics in India and Politics of Jharkhand. He is presently engaged in researching “General Elections’09 : A Behaviourial Study of Political Attitudes and Opinions in Jharkhand”, a major research project awarded by the UGC, New Delhi.
