  Global Conversation on Democracy
Final round of the 'Global Conversation on Democracy' was held in Johannesburg South Africa on 21st and 22nd February 2011. Like the first two round held earlier, this 'conversation' was largely unstructured exchange of ideas among nearly 15 activists, public intellectuals and scholars.

Global Conversation on Democracy and Democratisation', is an initiative by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi, supported by the Ford Foundation, that seeks to pluralise and deepen democratic imagination. Prof. Rajeev Bhargava and Prof. Yogendra Yadav are the Project Coordinators.

In the first session, the discussions of the earlier two conversations were reviewed. In the second session, there was an extensive discussion on the recent developments in Egypt in particular and in West Asia and North America in general.
The second day was devoted to discussion on the draft manifesto. It was agreed that the draft manifesto was to be revised in the light of the feedback received. It was also agreed that the revised draft manifesto will be put at openDEMOCRACY for public feedback before it is sent for dissemination.
